Apparenty DOZER has taken to the ledge in the front bay window. The other day when Troy was pulling in the driveway she stood up to peek out the window and the next thing I knew she was up on the ledge. There will soon be a bench there so she'll have some extra sleeping room, lol.

The Birthday Kids
On Saturday we celebrated Riley and Addison's birthdays! Riley turned 5 and Addison, my Goddaughter, turned 3 years old. The kids had a great time and played with lots of fun, new toys! Unfortunately my camera battery died before we got to cupcakes and presents. Here a few pictures from the day:

Wood floors... finally!
We finally have our main floor installed!! It's been over two months since we purchased the wood for the floor. The installers were here this past week and installed the maple flooring. It's MORE than nice to not walk around on dusty sub-floor with slippers or shoes.

Grams
Grandma, who is 90, hasn't been feeling so great lately. She's on the list to move into an assisted living unit in just a few weeks. We're moving her from up north near Duluth to a great place in Woodbury, just two miles from mom's house. It's been a very tough transition for her so far... especially since she's lived her whole life up north and all of her friends are there.
My Aunt Phyllis brought her to the hospital last week because of back pain; she was barely able to move at home on her own. :( The result ended in needing to bring her down to the cities for some testing and medical attention. She's in a hospital over by mom's and is scheduled to have surgery today because of a fracture in her back.
It's tough to see her in so much pain and frustrated with all that's going on. I can't wait for the day her pain is minimal and she's all moved in to her new place (hopefully soon!) so that she can start to enjoy new things. I'm excited to have her so close to me now. She's such a fantastic woman and has been through so much in life. I love you, Grandma. Everything will be just fine! :)

The House is GONE!
The lot across the street (beautifiul and over an acre!!) has been on the market since we first checked out this house last May. It FINALLY sold and now the fun begins.
Two weeks ago when we were walking Mila we noticed LOTS of markers in the ground. Last week when I was home from work b/c of my wrist, they started to bulldoze (doggie??) the house down - how exciting! The house was pretty small, with no basement, and needed lots of work. We've seen a couple with three kids over there a few times now.
Here are a few pics of the action across the street; we can't wait to see their dream house being built!

No more house... an open lot!
My hand is back in action!
I was able to take my splint wrap off on Tuesday night - hooray!! The feeling to get it off was great, but once it was off my hand wasn't quite so sturdy. :) It's doing great and back in action... for the most part.
My cut is covered until this falls off; my stitches are removed next week

the day after
it's the day after my surgery and i'm at home with a gimp hand. yesterday went as well as it could have gone. i can't do much with my right hand yet - it's bandaged up and needs to be elevated above my heart for 72 hours after surgery. i'm only able to type this with my left hand so it's taking a good amount of time. :) also, i can't get my hand wet for one full week... YIKES!
troy was such a trooper yesterday and has already joked about how needy i'll be now that i'm down a hand. it's crazy how different things are without the use of two able hands. something to be thankful for... ;)
my parents came over to make dinner last night. we had salad and pizza and it was nice for them to come over and help out. i LOVE mom's homemade pizza so it was great to have a yummy meal as my first food for the day!
here's the hand all bandaged up; this will be on for one full week:

The night before surgery
So as of midnight tonight, no more food for me until after surgery tomorrow. :( Tomorrow morning I'm having a minor surgery done for carpal tunnel. Apparently I have "significant carpal tunnel" in both wrists. My worst symptom over the past few months has been numbness in my arms and hands; man is that the worst. I usually wake up with numb arms and hands, and there were days I was up for three hours (showered and at work) still with numbness. Constant tingling...
Needless to say, tomorrow they're taking care of the right hand. I'll be back at work on Monday so I guess the recovery is quick, which is great. Two weeks from the surgery tomorrow, I'll have my left hand taken care of.
Here's a pic of my hand as of tonight... I'll add another pic after surgery tomorrow. Hopefully I still have a hand. :)

Happy Valentine's Day... a few days early
Tonight I was in the kitchen for a few good hours after getting home from the grocery store. After making dinner I made mini Valentine's Day cupcakes.
While I was in the kitchen, DOZER was taking a nap...

A BUSY Weekend
We had a pretty busy weekend! The weather was great and Mila had some fun outside. The house across the street finally sold and we noticed some movement over there over the weekend... it'll be exciting to get to meet our new neighbors once they move in.
Friday night we went to Gluek's and saw H&B. It'd been quite some time since the "normal gang" made it to see them. We had a great time playing ROCK BAND at Amy and Katie's before we went downtown. Here are a few shots of the ROCK STARS.
Katie on bass, Linds on guitar and Jen on drums

On Saturday my parents stopped by and they tested out the Wii! That was very entertaining! Troy and I were laughing so hard our stomachs and mouths hurt! :) They did a great job... Poppa really enjoyed the golf game. Here's a SHORT clip of them playing tennis...
